REXBURG — Authorities have arrested Franklin Rafael Camilo Mora in connection with an alleged sexual assault that occurred in September.
Mora has been charged with felony sexual penetration by use of a foreign object.
Rexburg Police Capt. Randy Lewis said the assault occurred in Porter Park while the two individuals were walking together. More, and the female Brigham Young University-Idaho student were acquainted, but not in a relationship, he said.
Mora, who is a Dominican national, is not a BYU-Idaho student and was staying with family at the time of the incident.
A warrant was issued for his arrest on Sept. 25, but he left the city before he could be apprehended. Police say he did not leave as a result of the investigation.
More was arrested when he arrived in Rexburg on a shuttle bus on Tuesday. He was booked into the Madison County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
Mora is expected to appear in court Wednesday.
