REXBURG — Police have arrested a Teton man who allegedly stole a tablet from Walmart on May 26.
Rexburg Police Capt. Randy Lewis says Bryant Lee Bird entered the store around 8:50 a.m. and went to the hardware section where it appears he took a pair of pliers.
“He then walked over to the electronics area and pried a Samsung tablet from the display mount,” Lewis tells EastIdahoNews.com. “He shoved the tablet down his pants and walked out of the store into a white van.”
Surveillance cameras recorded the theft as it happened.
Bird was arrested Monday morning on a theft and burglary charge after Lewis says he returned to Walmart and tried to steal a phone charger.
Bird is expected to appear in court this week.
